Systems Integration Project House

On January 1, 2009, Evonik launched the Project House Systems Integration, adding another chapter to its successful cross-segment research effort in the Chemicals Business Area. Just like its predecessors, the eighth Project House is managed by Creavis.

As a rule, the name of a project house is linked to the products, expertise, and technology platforms to be developed there. The name “systems integration” indicates that the eighth project house will focus on more than just the technical development of a product. The roughly 15 employees of the project house will treat products holistically, in the context of their use by the customer, and not isolated as a chemical raw material. The principle idea is to develop a product plus the required processing technology in such a way that customers can integrate the system into their running production environment simply and easily. This comprehensive approach is designed to accelerate the development process, add additional expertise along the value-added chain, and facilitate the market launch of new products.

The project house is starting with an initial portfolio of six projects designed to create added value for customers.

The multifaceted productportfolio includes e. g. „bonding on demand“ for automotive and industrial adhesive applications, automotive glazing without and with integrated functions or production of nanofibres for filtration applications.

Moreover, the holistic approach of the project house will not be limited to technical aspects but will also be applied to the marketing of the products. Because systems solutions open up new value-added options for Evonik, new business and sales models will also be developed and implemented in the various projects.

Like its predecessors, the eigth Project House has a duration of three years for the experts from all Evonik business segments involved to work together on cross-segment topics.
