Science-to-Business Center – an innovative concept for researching tomorrow’s products

Research topics with high risk, representing entirely new fields for Evonik, are worked on in the Science-to-Business centers (S2B Center) by Creavis.

The concept of these centers is based on the integration of all R&D activities across the value chain under one roof – starting from basic research to product development and up to pilot production. The goal is to develop new businesses up to the point of producing complete systems for the end-user.

The separate divisions of Creavis actively work together within an integrated, open and dynamic corporate culture. By cooperation with universities and research institutes as equal-level, integrated partners, we can acquire deeper knowledge in basic research. In product development, we work together with potential clients to better understand their requirements and provide an adequate solution to their problems. The duration of a S2B Center is minimum five years from start. S2B Centers offer the ideal framework for cooperation with internal and external partners, giving us the chance to reduce the time frame from discovery to market suitability significantly. The majority of S2B Center projects are supported by the state of North-Rhine Westphalia and co-financed by the European Union.
