Energy Generation

How to generate clean energy?

The goal of this line of development is to generate CO2 - neutral and decentralized energy based upon renewable energy sources as raw materials.

In principle, the sun supplies up to 1000 kWh/(m²*a) within Central Europe annually which corresponds to approx. 100l crude oil/(m²*a). Unfortunately, it is currently feasible to use only a small portion of this renewable energy.

The main focus is investigating innovative methods for small decentralized units for energy generation. Here the field of application begins with a more efficient use of well-known energy sources (e.g. biogas) and expands to the development of novel technologies such as the production and use of hydrogen. Further central fields of research are in the energetic use of waste heat (e.g. from chemical production processes) as well as increasing the efficiency of solar technology.

Life Cycle Management (LCM) plays a crucial decisive role in the evaluation of all potentially new technologies at S2B Eco².
