Jens is with Evonik for 20 years in various functions in innovation management. As head of the New Growth Area Circularity, he is responsible for business development in the field of circularity.  He and his team work on solutions for the recycling of polymers and strategic metals.

"Our activities in circularity focus on transforming value chains and thus, entire ecosystems. We support this with our research and want to provide important impulses.

In the area of Circular Polyurethane Solutions, we  target solutions that generate high-quality recyclates, which can ideally be reused in their original application - in this case, the manufacturing of mattresses. This requirement is important in order to manage waste volumes in the long term - and this is true in general and regardless of the plastic in question. Solutions for niche applications are not able to do this."

Emily has extensive experience in planning and implementing RD&I (research, development & innovation) projects inside and outside Evonik. As a Technology Manager in the Comfort and Insulation Business Line, she is responsible for sustainability issues in flexible foam. She leads the Circular PU project on the business line side.
