Foam blocks made of polyurethane have many uses in industry, for example in mattresses or upholstered furniture. Manufacturers are working to optimize their formulations so that the products produce fewer emissions. However, any adjustment to the formulation can increase foam waste - until the optimum machine settings for production are found.
To speed this up, the TEGO® RISE software was developed in a joint project between Creavis, the Comfort & Insulation business line and Group IT.
MORE ECONOMICAL, FASTER, AND MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
With TEGO® RISE, Evonik has developed software that helps foam manufacturers make their production processes more economical, faster, and more environmentally friendly. The software makes it possible to simulate and set the optimum parameters for the production process of flexible polyurethane foams in advance on the computer. This enables manufacturers of foam blocks to significantly reduce the amount of waste during production.
TEGO® RISE is useful both when introducing new formulations into production and during ongoing production with a known formulation. The software has already been tested in pilot projects at selected customers and has received positive feedback. Evonik thus not only offers specialty products and technical service for polyurethane production, but now also a digital solution for simulating the production process to make manufacturing more environmentally friendly and economical.
