DURAION® Membrane - AEM Electrolysis for the Production of Green Hydrogen
Advanced membrane technology for green hydrogen production
We are meeting the global challenge of the energy transition with our commitment and our solutions in the field of the green hydrogen economy. Hydrogen is an alternative to fossil raw materials for various applications. The use of hydrogen is intended to defossilize industrial processes such as steel production, synthesis of ammonia and methanol, but also transport. Additionally, hydrogen offers a solution to store renewable energy long-term. To cover this tremendous future demand of hydrogen high performance and cost efficient technologies to produce green hydrogen are needed.
At Creavis, our researchers have developed the anion exchange membrane DURAION® that can be used in alkaline membrane water electrolysis (AEM electrolysis). The DURAION® Membrane aims to lower the specific investment and operating costs of green hydrogen production and consequently enable the competitive production of green hydrogen. This allows the partners of Evonik to lead the way into a sustainable hydrogen economy.
AFTER ALL, HYDROGEN WILL BE THE FUTURE SOURCE OF ENERGY!
